16 Interesting and Useful AI Apps

Help with training, solve a client problem, chat with your favorite

character, earn more money, or just share news in a friendly way - all this can be done with a bot assistant. We talk about applications based on artificial intelligence that make our lives better and more interesting

Bing with ChatGPT-4

Everyone knows about ChatGPT, so let's start with a stand-alone chat bot from Microsoft, which is even more powerful in many respects. Bing uses the GPT-4 language model. OpenAI provides the same for money (the free version of ChatGPT has the GPT-3.5 model, and the ChatGPT Plus subscription costs $20 per month). Microsoft has everything for free.

Bing has out-of-the-box internet access by default, while in ChatGPT, you need to install a special plugin to get up-to-date answers based on information from the network. Bin also recently introduced a division into conversations - you can open several chats at the same time and work on different topics.

The power of Bing allows you to analyze entire documents and conduct a search based on them based on specified parameters, and can also create tables based on the specified and found information. The chatbot is equipped with a built-in image generator with artificial intelligence, which not only creates pictures, but also recognizes what is depicted in them based on the uploaded ones.

Bing has three modes - precise, balanced and creative. In the first one, the chatbot gives only specific answers with 100% accuracy, in the balanced one it adds a little analysis, and in the creative one it can produce a whole passage with conclusions that are worth checking. But this approach makes it possible to study the topic more deeply and double-check yourself in the chat itself.

The limit of 300 messages per day may not even be noticed, because the length of each message can reach four thousand characters (that’s about two pages of printed text in 12th font). By comparison, ChatGPT limits it to 25 messages per three hours.

To summarize, Bing has a lot of built-in features that ChatGPT can only get through plugins. If you need a chatbot for very narrow tasks, for example, writing in Shakespearean style, Bing will not be suitable. But as a serious tool for work tasks, this is the most suitable option.

Google Bard

Another fast and free bot with a friendly interface. Powered by PaLM 2, the latest version of Google LLM. In terms of functionality, it is practically not inferior to ChatGPT and Bing.

Disadvantages include the inaccuracy of answers, which are less detailed than those of competitors, and the lack of sources. But Bard gives three options for answering any question: the user can choose the most suitable one and, based on it, regenerate a more accurate and relevant result.

Also, unlike Bing, Google Bard does not understand the Russian language - and this is the main disadvantage for the Russian-speaking audience.

ChainGPT

This chatbot is a blockchain expert that cheerfully answers crypto-related questions, detects trends, captures anomalies, and generates NFTs. Artificial intelligence scans the Internet and generates short news items every hour.

ChainGPT will also help in drawing up and verifying smart contracts in the Solidity language - for this you need to describe the contract or insert code for auditing. The creators of the bot position it as an advanced AI model, which is intended for beginners and experienced traders for successful trading on the stock exchange. Not an investment recommendation.

Osmo

An unusual bot created to teach a computer to recognize odors like a human. This is done using a “smell map,” a way to predict what a molecule smells based on its structure.

Osmo created this map for a humanistic purpose. The developers envision that computers with a sense of smell will help detect diseases earlier, track pandemics, improve cooking, grow more food, detect spoiled food and protect against pests. In addition, it will be possible to capture and create odors that activate memories and emotions.

Character

If you've ever dreamed of hanging out with a Marvel character or your favorite actor, now is your chance. While most AI chatbots are designed to improve productivity or provide useful information, Character seems to be designed for the soul and joy - the app simulates conversations with fictional or real characters. The bot is based on patented technology trained on neural language models. And you can used it for free.

Socratic

Google AI based bot for training. Knowledgeable in mathematics, literature, social studies and other areas of scientific knowledge. By recognizing text and speech, Socratic offers the most relevant learning resources to the user, and provides clear visual explanations for each subject. Not only students, but also teachers who use the application as an assistant in their work speak positively about Socratic.

Ada

Designed to help solve customer service problems. Ada can answer general questions, make product and service recommendations, and resolve queries. The application is trained on various customer interaction scenarios, so it is useful for companies that work on customer service.

Replika

A companion bot, like the best of partners, is ready to learn and wants to see the world through the eyes of the person with whom it interacts. An ideal solution for introverts: the app supports conversation on any topic and only gets smarter with the amount of interaction.

The creators suggest discussing your day with it, relaxing together, sharing experiences in AR, using it in video calls, etc. They also mention the therapeutic effect of communication: Replika doesn’t just communicate, but gradually copies the text style and mimics the user. Almost Black Mirror.

Jasper

A popular service for solving work problems helps turn speech into texts for social networks, advertising messages and blog posts. You can try it free for seven days, after which you will have to pay $50 per month.Daisy

Daisy

Telegram bot with ChatGPT, Stable Diffusion and Speech KIT Recognition from red_mad_robot. Perceives speech, composes texts, writes code, translates, summarizes, generates artistic images and solves problems in various disciplines. There is a free plan that gives five generations of text and images per day. It’s easy to understand the bot: video instructions with basic usage scenarios have recently appeared. In addition, subscription holders are entitled to a percentage of other users’ transactions. It's a small thing, but nice.

By the way, some of the bots from this selection were suggested by Daisy.

Claude

Can answer questions without searching the Internet, accessible through a chat interface or API. Demonstrates skill in editing, transcribing, summarizing, classifying and structuring data. Copes well with largest volume of informational

Trained to follow instructions and logical scenarios, analyze strategic risks and opportunities based on annual reports, evaluate the pros and cons of legislation, and even identify risks in legal documents.

Therefore, Claude can be adapted to specific use cases - for example, teach customer service and sales, or be used in the legal department or back office and delegate tasks to a person.

Supports Google, Zoom and Slack.

Woebot

Mental health assistant bot. Recognizes natural speech, so it’s easy to communicate with him in any place and condition. Trained to respond using cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help users identify negative thought patterns and develop strategies to cope with stress, anxiety and even depression.

Judging by the reviews, the application may well replace a real psychotherapist in acute moments when help is needed immediately. But, of course, you shouldn’t limit yourself to just one. Take care of yourself, and if you feel that you are not exporting, contact a specialist.

Synthesia

Offers users to say goodbye to video cameras, microphones and even actors and save significantly on production. The service generates videos with avatars that “pronounce” given texts in a very realistic way, allowing you to make educational, advertising or news videos. Monthly subscription – from $30 for ten videos. It’s a little expensive, but where else can you make your own digital twin, who would be present on work calls while you sleep?

Alice with YandexGPT

The virtual voice assistant from Yandex has become smarter. The YandexGPT language model, a new neural network that was trained on Yandex supercomputers, was introduced into Alice. Now the chatbot will help you come up with ideas and texts on various topics, imitating information on the Internet. “Therefore, the result may be fiction and is not my opinion or the opinion of Yandex,” Alice warns when launching the skill.

While the neural network is learning, the assistant may make mistakes in answers, and also refuse to talk about some topics - for example, about relationships with loved ones. According to the developers, soon it will even be able to read the context of the conversation. The phrase “Alice, let’s figure it out” launches a chatbot in the Yandex application, Yandex Browser for mobile devices, Stations and smart TVs.

Sage

Not a bot assistant, but an assistant with bots. Sage is designed to leverage the power of multiple chatbots for different tasks. Even those who do not have technical knowledge in the field of programming or artificial intelligence. Knows several languages other than English and currently works with GPT-4, ChatGPT, Claude, Claude+ and Claude-instant.

ChatGPT

Most famous today, ChatGPT was the first artificial intelligence bot that runs in a user-friendly and intuitive chat interface. The bot gives informative, meaningful answers in a familiar conversational style. The paid version is based on OpenAI GPT-4. Recently, the Bing plugin has been built into ChatGPT, thanks to which the bot searches the Internet and provides relevant results.

The free version gives access to GPT-3.5, and the ChatGPT Plus subscription for $20 per month gives access to GPT-4.
